Miller, 96, Chesnee, SC, formerly of Elizabethtown, PA and Sebring, FL, went home to be with the Lord December 21, 2010.  He was the husband of Barbara C. Cramer Miller, whom he married June 27, 1982.  Mr. Miller was born in Bainbridge on March 2, 1914, the son of the late Phares C. Miller, Sr. and Emma Kraybill Miller.<br />
He was a founding member of Community Bible Church, Marietta, and an eighteen year member of Maranatha Baptist Church, Sebring, FL.  Phares enjoyed music and sang many years in The Crusade for  Christ Hour Quartet.  He also enjoyed bowling, hunting, golfing, and jigsaw puzzles.  Mr. Miller was a salesman for Hoffman Seed; Aberdeen Mills; R.W. Sauder Eggs; Hiestand, Inc; Longenecker&#8217;s Hatchery; and Wolgemuth Brothers Inc.<br />
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons and three daughters: Richard (Naomi) and Wilbur (Patricia), Elizabethtown; Mildred (Melvin) Shenk, Mount Joy; Thelma (Donald) Mowrer, Marietta; Velma Givler, Lititz; twelve grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; a step-daughter, Robin (Mike) Reed, Chesnee, SC; step-son, Marshall (Devona) Cramer, Chesnee, SC; five step-grandchildren; and thirteen step-great-grandchildren.<br />
Phares was preceded in death by his first wife Mary (Good) Miller, to whom he was married forty-seven years, and by three sisters and brothers.<br />
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, December 28, at Goods Mennonite Church, 4374 Bossler Rd, Bainbridge.  The family will receive friends and relatives at Miller/Sekely Funeral Services, 130 N. Market St, Elizabethtown, on Monday evening, December 27, from 6:00-8:00.  Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.<br />
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Mr. Miller&#8217;s name to Hospice Care of South Carolina, 1612 N. Limestone St, Gaffney, SC 29340.</p>

He was the husband of Sandra Jean (Nagel) Detz, to whom he was married for 52 years.<br />
Born September 19, 1936, he was the son of the late Quinn Detz, Sr. and Rebecca (Barninger) Detz.<br />
He graduated from Columbia High School in 1954. He served in the U.S. Army from 1955-1958. After the army, he was the superintendent of Savoy Shoe Factory and then went to work at Yellow Freight.<br />
He enjoyed spending days taking care of his pool and swimming with children and grandchildren.<br />
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Pamela (Bruce Tesch), Diana (Robert Leeper), Suzanne, Barbara (Steve Weaver), Tom Detz (Tammy Miller), and Stephen Detz (Teresa Fisher), 13 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings: Ralph, Melvin (Barbara), Vernon (Barb), Arthur, Catherine Griffin (Rodney), Rebecca Clark, Dorothy (Dave Shenberger), and Robert, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.<br />
He was preceded in death by four sisters: Arlene Grove, Sylvia Henny, Judith Baker, and Elizabeth Reisinger.<br />
A Catholic Prayer Service will be held on Thursday, December 23, 2010 at Miller/Sekely Funeral Services, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown at 8:00 PM. Friends may call on Thursday at the funeral home from 6:00-8:00 PM. Interment will take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery on Friday at 11:30 AM.<br />
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lebanon VA Medical Center, 1700 South Lincoln Avenue, Lebanon, PA 17042.</p>

<p>Lester R. DeGroft, 79, of Elizabethtown, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at Hospice of Lancaster County, Mount Joy, following a valiant battle with cancer.</p>
<p>Born in York, he was the son of the late J. Lester and Margaret Amanda (Garver) DeGroft. Les was the loving husband of Maxine (Shank) DeGroft; they were married October 25, 1953.</p>
<p>Les was a graduate of William Penn High School, York, class of 1949. A combat veteran of the Korean War, he served in the US Army 2nd division. He retired in 1995 after 37 years as a city letter carrier with the Elizabethtown Post Office. After retirement, he was employed as a driver and attendant for Miller/Sekely Funeral Services, Elizabethtown and Spence Funeral Services, Manheim.</p>
<p>Surviving besides his wife are three sons: Pastor Steven Craig, husband of Linda Smith DeGroft, Lisbon Falls, ME; Bradley, husband of Deborah Snyder DeGroft, Elizabethtown; Scott, husband of Deborah Cornelius DeGroft, Middletown, OH; grandchildren: Shawn, Michael, Jennifer, Brian, Matthew and Kevin DeGroft; great grandchildren: Jordan, Kyle and Anabelle, and a sister Lois DeGroft Shaffer of Hanover, PA.One of his greatest joys in life was spending time with his children and grandchildren, and watching them grow up and pursue  the plans God had for their lives.</p>
<p>He was a member of Mount Calvary Church of Elizabethtown and served in various capacities &#8211; church treasurer, deacon, and as Jr. High Youth Leader for over 10 years.</p>
<p>A Memorial Service will be held at Mount Calvary Church, 625 North Holly Street, Elizabethtown on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at 2:30 PM with Pastors Chandler Cutting and Dan Gilbert officiating. There will be no viewing. The family will receive friends on Wednesday at the church from 1:30 until the time of service. Interment will take place in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery on Wednesday at 10:30 AM with Pastor Steven DeGroft officiating.</p>
<p>In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Les’ memory to the Missionary Fund of Mount Calvary Church, PO Box 508, Elizabethtown, PA 17022.</p>

Harry was a graduate of Woodbury High School and attended Drexel University. He retired in 1978 as Director of Procurement for the Department of Defense at the Frankfod Arsenal in Philadelphia. A US Navy veteran of WWII, Harry was a member of the American Legion and the VFW. Earlier he served on the school board in New Jersey.<br />
In addition to his wife and parents, Harry was preceded in death by two sons: Harry J., III and David E. Krusch and a sister Joan Hargis.<br />
He is survived by four children: Carol A., wife of Richard T. Salotto; Keith A. Krusch; Mark S., husband of Claudia Krusch and Bettina M. Krusch; 13 grandchildren, four great grandchildren and a sister Nancy, wife of Frank Quattrocchi.<br />
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at Living Hope Community Chapel, 842 North Hanover Street, Elizabethtown, PA 17022 at 4:00 PM. Friends may call at the church from 3:00 PM until the time of service. Interment will take place on Wednesday in Woodbury Memorial Park, NJ.<br />
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Living Hope Community Chapel.<br />

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>John W. Schock, age 90, of Palmyra, formerly of Elizabethtown, died December 2, 2010 at the Lebanon Valley Brethren Home, Palmyra.<br />
Born in Washington Boro, Pa., he was the son of the late Jacob M. and Annie Frey Schock.  He married Ruth Ellen Keefer on December 7, 1941.  John and Ruth spent several years as Unit Parents for the Milton Hershey School, Hershey, Pa. before being called into the ministry in 1951.<br />
He was a Pastor in the Brethren in Christ Church for nine churches in Virginia, Tennessee, Pennsylvania and Canada, and was an Interim Pastor for two churches, retiring in 1990.  After retirement, he was very active in Senior Ministries within the Kenbrook Bible Camp, Lebanon, Pa.  He also served in various positions in senior activities within the Elizabethtown area.<br />
Pastor Schock devoted his life to the ministry and to serving others.  He was also a skilled carpenter which was very useful during his church planting years in Virginia and Tennessee.  He enjoyed golfing and was active in the Lions Club in Elizabethtown.<br />
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth, who died in 2006; three brothers, Albert, Jacob and Richard and two sisters Anna Mary Erhart and Esther Hess.<br />
Mr. Schock is survived by a son, John W. Jr., and his wife Sally Schock, Gallatin, TN; three granddaughters, Malinda Caouette Adams, Sunny Holland, Sandy Ewing; two great grandsons, Cameron Caouette, and Alex Ewing; four great granddaughters, Pauline, Samantha and Rayana Holland and Skylar Ewing; a brother, Graybill E. and two sisters Martha Schock and Emma M. Heisey.<br />
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2010 at 12;30 pm at the Manor Brethren in Christ Church, 530 Central Manor Road, Lancaster, Pa. Friends may call at the Manor Church preceding the service from 11:00 noon to 12:30 pm.  Interment will take place in Mattie Schock Cemetery, Washington Boro, Pa.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the &#8220;Honoring Leaders of Yesterday&#8221; fund, Brethren in Christ Church, 431 Grantham Road, PO Box A, Grantham Pa. 17027, designated to the John Schock Memorial Fund.<br />

Kathleen is survived by her daughter, Beth married to James Streaker of Lancaster. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda, married to Dr. Sherrill Babb and her son, Gregory Clements. Kathleen is also survived by her grandchildren: Corrinne Gibilterra, Michelle Stillman, David Babb, Angela Albright, Doug Streaker, and numerous great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Mildred Ranck and her brother, Dr. Harold Stauffer.<br />
Kathleen grew up in New Holland, PA, where she was a member of the New Holland Evangelical United Brethren Church. A homemaker, Kathleen worked along with her husband at the Rawlinsville General Store. She had also worked at Franklin &amp; Marshall College Book Shop, Zimmerman&#8217;s Restaurant, and Brownstown Restaurant. In addition, she was also a licensed practical nurse and a member of the Young at Heart Seniors. She enjoyed crewel work, traveling, reading, walking, and her cat, Whitney.<br />
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at 12:00 Noon at the Rawlinsville United Methodist Church, 1040 Truce Road, Holtwood (Rawlinsville), PA 17532; officiated by Dr. Sherrill Babb.  Friends may call on Tuesday at the church from 11:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will follow at the Church&#8217;s cemetery. In place of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Masonic Village Hospice, One Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown, PA 17022-2199.<br />

Shirley was born in Chester County, PA to the late Emily and Elmer Kolb. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, James C. Lutz, and a sister, Beatrice. She is survived by five children, Barbara Lutz, wife of James Bourdaghs, New York, NY; Michael, husband of Sarah Lutz, Lancaster; Philip, husband of Sandra Lutz, Lebanon; Judith, wife of Barry Germer, Elizabethtown and Beth, wife of Gregory Schock, Dauphin; nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, nine step-great grandchildren;  a sister, Ruth Graybill, Souderton; and two brothers, John M. Kolb, Goshen, IN and David M. Kolb, Freeport, ME.<br />
Shirley and her late husband lived in Elizabethtown for 52 years before moving to Hershey. Shirley was a homemaker, wife, and mother and worked 20 years in the school cafeteria at Elizabethtown Area School District. She was very involved in Elizabethtown Mennonite Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher and participated in the Sewing Circle, Mothers and Others, kitchen staff, and chorus. She was well known for her cooking and quilting skills and she loved to take long walks every day.<br />
She will be remembered for her tall, elegant carriage, her smile, chuckle and big hugs, but most of all for the love she showed to everyone. She will be sorely missed by family and friends but we are confident that she is in the loving hands of the Lord.<br />

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 3, 2010 at Elizabethtown Mennonite Church, 300 South Spruce Street, Elizabethtown at 11:00 AM. <div style="text-align: left;">Erma Miller Zimmerman, 97, of Masonic Village, Elizabethtown, died at the Masonic Village Health Care Center on Thursday, November 18, 2010 following a brief illness.<br />
She was born in Conewago Township, Dauphin County, daughter of the late Harry B. and Elizabeth Reichenbach Geyer. She was married to Simon L. Zimmerman of Elizabethtown for the past 13 years.<br />
Erma was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Elizabethtown and more recently attended John S. Sell Memorial Chapel at the Masonic Village, Elizabethtown.<br />
She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Chapter 407, Elizabethtown and had belonged to numerous civic and music organizations in past years. Erma was well known as an accomplished pianist and organist, having played for many local churches, civic organizations, and weddings. For many years, she was affiliated with the Miller Funeral Home, Elizabethtown.<br />
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Frank, husband of Linda Wolfe Miller of Hershey, 4 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and 3 step daughters, Julia wife of Leonard Jeffers, Elizabethtown, Marilyn Lerner of Applegate, OR, and Betty Jo Ross, Edmond, OK and 6 step-grandchildren, 2 step-great grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Eileen Haldeman Miller, Barrington, RI, and she was preceded in death by a son, Harry Miller.<br />
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 26th, at the John S. Sell Memorial Chapel, Masonic Village, Elizabethtown. Friends will be received on Friday from 1 PM until the time of the service. In place of sending flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Masonic Village, One Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown, PA 17022 for the Sell Chapel Organ Fund.<br />

<p>Zachary S. Figard, 25, of Elizabethtown, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at Hershey Medical Center. Born in Suffren, NY, he was the son of Marguerite &#8220;Dee Dee&#8221; (McLaughlin) Briggs and Stephen J. Figard, both of Elizabethtown. Zachary attended LCBC in Manheim. He was a graduate of Lancaster Mennonite High School where he played soccer. Zachary was an avid Steelers fan and loved the Lord. In addition to his parents he is survived by brother Daniel J. and a sister Lisa Figard, both of Elizabethtown; his maternal grandmother Mary McLaughlin and paternal grandmother Ethel Figard. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, September 12, 2010 at the Elizabethtown Alliance Church, 425 Cloverleaf Road, Elizabethtown at 7:00 PM. There will be no viewing. The family will receive friends on Sunday at the church from 6:00 PM until the time of service and immediately following the service.</p>

<p><span style="font-family: times; color: #000000; font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: times; color: #000000; font-size: small;">Jimmie  Clarence McGrady, 52, of Elizabethtown, entered eternal rest Tuesday,  September 7, 2010 at Hershey Medical Center. Born in Sparta, NC on  November 18, 1957, he was the son of Gracie Ekin of Killeen, TX and the  late Clarence McGrady.  Jim served in the US Army. He loved NASCAR and country music, and  carnivals and taking trips. He was an avid New England Patriots fan, but  most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends. Jim is survived by his wife Susan McGrady of four years, his mother  Gracie, a sister Barbara Lingenfelter of Killeen, TX and a brother Mick  McGrady of San Dimas, CA; three children: Matthew and Carly of Thurmont,  MD and Roger Douglas McGrady of North Carolina; two step daughters:  Cristina Zimmerman of Penbrook and Melissa Gilbert of Middletown; a step  son William Zimmerman, Jr. of Harrisburg; 11 grandchildren; and several  nieces and nephews. Jimmie will be greatly missed, he was a great friend, grandfather,  husband and a terrific father. A Service of remembrance will be held on Friday, September 17, 2010 at  Miller/Sekely Funeral Services, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown  at 7:00 PM. There will be no viewing. The family will receive friends  from 6:00 PM until the time of service. </span></span></p>
